NEW - Requests for Certified Vital Records
As of January 1st, the fees for certified birth, marriage, or death records will increase to $10.00 per copy.  This fee increase is due to the rising costs of paper.  The Select Board voted on this increase at their December 7, 2021 meeting

Election Workers Needed
The Town Clerk’s Office is looking for interested registered voters who can work at Local and State Elections.  MGL Chapter 52, section 12 allows for students aged 16 and 17 to work elections - community service can be given for hours worked.   Election Workers (check-in) are the frontline of the voting process.  You are charged with processing the voter check-in, using either an electronic poll pad, or paper list, making sure the voter is given the correct ballot, and conduct yourself in a professional manner that ensures fair and impartial elections.  Election Workers are also assigned to assist at the ballot box (tabulator).  This consists of giving the voter the privacy while they process their ballot but also understanding the ballot box/tabulator should there be issues.  Election Workers may also be asked to assist with the counting/tallying of the election votes at the end of the night.  This requires patience, able to work in an intense situation, while working with others to capture the number of votes cast.  We are happy to have volunteers, but we are also willing to pay an hourly rate.  There are 3 shifts to choose from, and you are not required to work every election.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact the Town Clerk Trudy Reid at

Annual Town Census
Early January, the Annual 2022 Town Census form was mailed to nearly every household in Wenham.  It is very important that you return this form as soon as possible.   By doing so, you will be counted in the annual town census, keep your name on our active voting list, allow us to have a better idea how many residents are in town, which assists us in applying for state/federal grants, and saves the Town Clerks office time and money in sending out a second notice.    The form can be mailed to the Town Clerk’s office at the Town Hall, placed in the drop off box located on the back side of Town Hall,  or scanned and emailed to  The census form needs your confirmation of the pre-printed information.  If the information is not correct, just make the necessary changes directly on the form, along with your signature (the signature is very important).  If you have any questions regarding the form, please contact the Town Clerk - Trudy Reid at 978-468-5520 x1 or email to

Dog Registration
If you currently have a dog, it will need to be registered for 2022.  (MGL Chapter 140/section 137).  There will be information on the annual census form on how to register.  This is for every dog that is 6 months or older.  The dog tag registration runs from January 1 – December 31st.    Registration can be done at online at City Hall Systems - eBilling ePayment, or the dog tags can be purchased at the counter at the Town Clerk’s office.  If paying in person, we can only accept cash or checks.   To license your dog(s), we need: a copy of a valid rabies certificate and certificate of spaying / neutering - if not already on file.  The fee is $15.00 per dog if your dog has not been spayed or neutered - $10.00 per dog for a spayed or neutered dog.  As a reminder, all dogs must be registered by March 1st  (extended) - dogs licensed after that date will be assessed a late fee of $25. The late fee shall be in addition to the license fee indicated above.  Personal kennels for four dogs will be $50, five to 10 dogs $100, and more than 10 dogs $150.  If you have 4 or more dogs, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office.
