Wenham's Risk For EEE Has Increased To Moderate

9.26.19.

This is a reminder that, as of the morning of September 26, 2019, Wenham remains at MODERATE risk level for EEE. The Board of Health wants to remind residents to continue to practice mosquito bite prevention and protection.

Please share these resources with any staff or community organizations with outside activities.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Wenham’s risk for EEE has increased to Moderate, due to an individual contracting the disease in Ipswich/Topsfield.  In Wenham, residents are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activity during peak mosquito activity (dusk to dawn), to use EPA approved insect repellents and wear long sleeves/pants if outdoors with mosquito activity. Hamilton Board of Health has provided the same information.

If Wenham Risk level for EEE would be increased any further, then we would recommend (or possibly require) that organized outdoor events be rescheduled so not to occur during peak mosquito activity.
