Our Town has enjoyed a vibrant and rich history that reaches back more than 370 years. Situated in a pastoral New England setting, Wenham is a community full of opportunities and blessings. Our rich history is anchored by the Wenham Museum and the Wenham Tea House among other important, natural, historical, and architectural landmarks. Wenham is home to Gordon College, an international institution of higher learning and is carefully and prudently managed, supporting both one of the highest ranked school systems and overall credit ratings in the state of Massachusetts. The historic district running through the center of town boasts well-kept homes and buildings from the 1700’s and is accompanied by historical mansions and estates preserved against further development.
Our remarkable natural resources, town parks, bicycle and pedestrian pathways, expansive water resources and innovative regional school district lend a comfortable and scenic setting. We enjoy a wide variety of groups and individual volunteers, many who are leaders in their chosen professional, academic, commercial, or public service fields, who actively promote and support community and self-improvement. Wenham has worked for more than 100 years to preserve its rural atmosphere and signature gifts, a place for raising families, building businesses, and welcoming visitors.
We cordially invite you to take a closer look at our community and the recreational, economic, and geographical, advantages which this small archetypal New England town has to offer.
