Form of Government
The Town of Wenham has a Board of Selectmen and Open Town Meeting form of government. The Board of Selectmen employ an administrator to carry out their legislative and policy decisions. The Town Administrator handles the day-to-day administration of the Town.
The Town also has a number of appointed committees and commissions that specialize in various subject matter.
Board of Selectmen Meetings
The Town Administrator and Board of Selectmen meet the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are occasionally rescheduled when necessary. Notices of all meetings are posted onthe Town website and in the Town Clerk's Office.
All meetings are OPEN to the public. Board minutes are available online and in the Town Clerk's Office. The Board of Selectmen may meet in private executive session only to discuss limited matters, such as litigation, land acquisition, and personnel. Board of Selectmen meetings are recorded by HWCAM and broadcast live and tape-delay on Comcast Channel 8 and Verizon Channel 36 and via the HWCAM YouTube page.
Board of Selectmen agendas are finalized and posted on the Town website at least 48 business hours prior to the Board meeting. Board meetings follow a regular order of business:
