Feedback from the 2016 and 2017 Citizens Leadership Academies:
"I'm glad I participated in the Wenham's Citizens' Academy! On a practical day-to-day basis, I learned about all the different Wenham departments, boards and committees, so I know who to call with any town-related questions or issues, and the mock Town Meeting helped me learn how to participate more effectively in town legislative and budgetary business. I enjoyed meeting other local residents and got a great perspective on Wenham's strengths and challenges, which motivated me to get more involved in town activities and planning, like the Wenham Finance Committee and our 375th anniversary celebration. Perhaps most important, I learned Wenham is run by professional (and nice!) people who, I believe, are putting our tax dollars to good use. The Wenham Citizens' Academy--who knew civic engagement could be so fun?--and it wasn't just because we got candy every week." -Carrie Jelsma, Wenham Finance & Advisory Committee and Hamilton-Wenham League of Women Voters
"Getting to know the individuals who head up all the facets of our town's government was great. Hearing directly from the people who are working each day to keep Wenham running smoothly was effective in bringing the picture of how the town works into focus.” -Maureen Whitman, former board member of the Wenham Issues of Social Service Help (WISSH), Cultural Council, and Hamilton-Wenham Friends of the Arts (FOTA)
“You get a true understanding of every department in town… if you have a question you know where to go and who will take care of it for you” – Judy Bubriski, Wenham Affordable Housing Trustee & Hamilton-Wenham Library Trustee
