Interested in Serving?
The Town of Wenham seeks interested residents to become involved as volunteer members of our many Boards, Committees or Commissions. Vacant positions will promptly be listed on the Volunteer Opportunities page of the Town website and announced at Select Board meetings.
Annually, in May, the Select Board and the Town Administrator will advertise all positions that are vacant or up for reappointment. That list will be posted here and will include instructions about applying for positions during that period.
Any prospective candidate for appointment, whether responding to a published notice of vacancy or responding to a personal appeal, should provide a submission of interest in at least one of the following ways:
- Complete the Appointment & Re-Appointment Request Google Form (this method sufficient, but individual letters of interest and/resumes that are submitted will be shared in addition)
- Letter of Interest for appointment or re-appointment request emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Letter of Interest for appointment or re-appointment mailed to the Select Board, c/o Town Administrator, 138 Main Street, Wenham, MA 01984
The letter of interest should include a resume and/or background documentation illustrating the experience of the candidate and a brief explanation of the basis for their interest in the open position. Applications will be received and forwarded to the Select Board by the Town Administration.
Appointments are made at the sole discretion of the Select Board, who may request input from other boards or commissions. The candidates may be asked for an interview by one or more members of the Select Board before the full Select Board takes action to appoint.
Notification of appointment will be made in writing to the successful candidate and the Chair for the appropriate Board by the Town Clerk.
