4th Essex Representative District
Voting takes place at Wenham Town Hall from 7 AM - 8 PM
Masks are required inside Town Hall

Notice for the Tuesday, November 30th Special Election for the 4th Essex Representative District:

If you are not going to be in town on Election Day and wish to vote absentee, due to the Thanksgiving holiday, absentee applications are to be received in the Town Clerk’s office no later than Tuesday, November 23rd – 5:00 PM. If you do not get your application in on time, you still can vote absentee at the Town Clerk’s counter Monday, November 29th no later than NOONTIME.

If you have already applied for an absentee ballot from the last election, ballots will be mailed as soon as they are received from the State. Please feel free to call the Town Clerk’s office at 978-468-5520 x 1 if you have any questions.

Absentee and early Vote by Mail ballots must be requested in writing at least 4 business days before Election Day.   For applications on file once the  ballots are received from State Election, they will immediately be mailed. 

There will be no early in-person voting.  Polls will be open from 7 AM - 8 PM for both Elections.  Voting takes place at the Wenham Town Hall.   

Voter Registration Dates:  If you are new to town, or you have never registered to vote before, in order to vote in the November 2nd Primary, you must register no later than October 13, 2021.  After this date, to vote in the November 30th Election, you must register no later than November 10, 2021.   One these two dates, the Town Clerk's office will be open from 9AM - 8 PM for anyone wishing to enroll in person.

Primary Election voting rules:  If you are registered as a Democrat, at the primary you can only have the Democrat ballot.  If you are registered as a Republican, at the primary you can only have the Republican ballot.  If you are registered as unenrolled (you are a registered voter, just not registered in any particular party), at the primary, you get to choose your ballot.  If you need to change your party status, it must be done no later than October 13, 2021.  For the State Election on November 30th, party enrollment does not matter.
