Wreaths Across America

Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies across the U.S. at sea and abroad.

Help the Veterans Committee by visiting our Wreaths  Across America page to sponsor sponsoring wreaths for $15 each, and register to volunteer:

Wreaths Across America at Main Street Cemetery
December 19, 2020 at 12 noon

We have worked with the Board of Health in determining the safest plan to navigate COVID restrictions issued by the Governor limiting attendance at all gatherings. To comply with the Governor's current directive of no more than 50 in attendance at outdoor gatherings, we have divided the event into two sessions (12pm and 1pm) with half the wreaths being distributed among veterans' graves at each session.

December 18 important update from Bill Wilson and the Veterans Committee:

We evaluated the Main Street Cemetery this morning and found it to be in good order, thanks to our Department of Public Works, for tomorrows Wreaths Across America event starting on time as planned.

There will be no parking within the cemetery.  You are directed to park directly across the street on Lake Ave, Fiske Road or Patti Lane which is a 1 or 2 minute walk to the Cemetery.  Please be respectful to the neighbors by not blocking their driveways.

Be prepared to stop at either cemetery entrance to check-in confirming your contact information for our COVID-19 contact tracing efforts.

After a brief ceremony at 12 noon, wreath placement will begin.  Anyone who wishes to assist with placement of wreaths at Iron Rail Cemetery should depart at that time.  There will be a Veteran at Iron Rail to coordinate placement of those wreaths.  Wreath laying will continue through the 1:00pm session until all wreaths have been placed.

Dress appropriately for walking in deep snow for placing wreaths.  All US flags are visible marking where Veterans are buried. (See attached pictures)

We would like to thank all the volunteers for their willingness to not let a little snow get in the way of delaying this wonderful event.  We look forward to seeing you there.
