Hazard Mitigation & Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Plan

The Town of Wenham is pleased to announce the final acceptance of the Town’s Hazard Mitigation and Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Plan. This plan, developed over the past year, is a “living document” with information and strategies regarding climate adaptation and resiliency as well as demonstrating our commitment to reducing future losses due to disasters.

Through the Community Resiliency Building planning process Wenham has been designated by the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) as a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Community. As an MVP Community, Wenham is eligible to apply for MVP Action Grants as administered by EEA and may receive increased standing in future state funding opportunities.

Through Wenham’s adoption of the Hazard Mitigation Plan the Town is eligible to apply to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency for mitigation grants administered by FEMA.
