The Board of Health makes regulations as it deems necessary for the public health and safety of the Town. The Wenham Board of Health is responsible for the enforcement of State Sanitary Codes, State Environmental Codes and Wenham Board of Health Regulations. Areas of responsibility include: septic systems, housing and dwelling units, food service establishments, private wells and recreational camps for children.
Announcements
On December 13, the Board of Health voted to implement proposed changes to Wenham's tobacco regulations. As of December 30, 2018, the proposed changes will become effective:
Minimum Legal Sale Age (MLSA)- the sale of tobacco products is restricted to any one twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
Tobacco Product- The definition of tobacco product was updated to reflect the MGL definition.
A notice of the changes will appear in the HW Chronicle and will be sent to MA DEP, as required. Copies of the regulations are available in the Board of Health office at 138 Main St. and on the Town website.
